Salvation is from the word 'save'. According to Websters dictionary, Salvation ( salvational adjective) means (1)a. Deliverance from the power and effect of sin b. Agent or means that effects salvation (2)Liberation from ignorance or illusion (3) a. preservation from destruction or failure b. deliverance from danger or difficulty.

Some other synonym or terms for salvation are: New birth, born from above, born anew, regenerated, born again, recreation and new creature.

Salvation by bible definition is all of these and more. Salvation is Wholeness...nothing missing, nothing broken. John 3;16 said " For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life" (new King James Translation).

Salvation is a Love story. Its the story of the Love of God demonstrated in the person of Jesus Christ. Many have thought that salvations is just escaping hell, although that is true, it is more. Its the practical display of the love of Jesus Christ. Bible says that "Greater love hath no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" John 15:13.

Salvation is about the Love of the father through the son Jesus Christ.

Why do I need to be saved?

Looking at the definition of salvation, you may say "I dont have sin, I am a good person. I certainly do not need to be delivered from ignorance"(especially if you are well educated) or you might say "what difficulty are you talking about?" (if you have means financially or materially). Bible says "wherefore, as by one man, sin entered into the world and death by sin, and so death passed upon all me, for that all have sinned:" We inherited sin by virtue of birth. If a man or woman had never committed any sin in their life, the mere fact of birth made them a sinner. Rom 3;23 said "for all have sinned and come short of the glory of God". So if you have come via a woman or conceived by a man and woman, you need to be saved.

The Gospel brings salvation. Salvation brings dignity to all people. You may be ridden with guilt right now. The good news is that Jesus paid the price for your guilt. Your sins have already been forgiven you. It does not matter what you have done or where you have been. He still loves you just as you are. You may have committed various crimes or even murder. Jesus paid the price for all sins.

How do I get saved?

Getting saved is the simplest thing in the world. Just pray this prayer now. say "Jesus, come into my heart, forgive all my sin, be my lord and savior". if you just said that prayer, you just got born-again! Congratulations and welcome into the family and the love of God.

Whats next?

Don't just sit at home and be a lonely Christian. Find a vibrant word based church and feed your spirit man. Read your bible and pray daily. Also, share your faith with someone else. Tell someone else today about the love of Jesus for them. Find a church in your local area and get involved and busy for God. We love you so much, and much more, Jesus Loves you.
